Our expertise

ESEA supports biodiversity projects from early ecological due diligence and constraints analysis through to approvals, construction and post-approval compliance. Our work includes Biodiversity Development Assessment Reports, Flora and Fauna Assessments, Reviews of Environmental Factors, vegetation management planning, biodiversity stewardship advice and targeted threatened species surveys. We also provide project ecologist services, pre-clearing fauna surveys, vegetation clearing supervision, thermal and drone fauna surveys, aquatic ecology and eDNA assessment, dam dewatering fauna rescue, ecological support for Controlled Activity Approval applications and independent peer review.

ESEA's developing sustainability capability provides proportionate support for organisations seeking to better understand, organise and report environmental and sustainability information. Services include reporting scoping, environmental data organisation, gap analysis, sustainability and ESG advisory support, ESIA scoping, environmental and social management planning and community needs assessment.

ESEA provides arboricultural assessment and project support as an integrated part of our environmental consultancy services. This includes Arboricultural Impact Assessments and tree protection advice in accordance with AS 4970:2025, tree risk assessments, project arborist services, tree and habitat feature assessments, and hollow salvage and replacement planning. Bringing biodiversity and arboricultural reporting together helps ensure tree impacts, habitat values and ecological constraints are assessed consistently across the same project.

Environmental advice built around project delivery

ESEA works with residential, commercial and industrial developers, infrastructure providers, local and state government, public organisations, planners, engineers, schools, universities and research organisations.
Our role often begins during early project planning, when ecological and environmental constraints can still shape the design or programme, and continues through assessment, approval, delivery and construction. This allows biodiversity, arboricultural and environmental advice to be integrated with planning, engineering and project requirements rather than delivered as isolated reports. Clients particularly value our responsiveness, clear communication and ability to work within demanding project programmes.

Expert Tree Management and Protection

Trees are vital urban and rural assets, requiring specialised care and strategic management. ESEA offers comprehensive arboricultural consultancy, including Australian standard AS 4970 (Protection of trees on development sites) tree surveys for planning, hazard risk assessments, and long-term tree management plans. Our expert arborists evaluate tree health, structural integrity, and ecological value, providing clear guidance to protect significant specimens, ensure public safety, and seamlessly integrate green infrastructure into any landscape.

what our cients say
We have traditionally found it very difficult to get priority as a client from other consultants from an ecologist services standpoint as everyone scales. It has been a point for us to continue using those who are nimble.

From enquiry to proposal

Send us the site address, a description of the proposed works, available plans and any relevant correspondence from council or another approval authority.

We will review the available information and prepare an itemised proposal setting out the next steps forward, required scope, site investigations, reporting stages, meetings and professional fees.

For straightforward enquiries, we typically aim to provide a proposal within two business days. If your project has a fixed approval or construction deadline, let us know at the outset. Threatened species survey periods, authority requirements and the availability of a stable project design can have a greater effect on the overall programme than report preparation itself.
